Judge Sends Compliments to San Joaquin Connect II

We have some nice news coming out of Stockton, CA to share this week! We’ve received some really nice statistics and quotes from a judge about our San Joaquin Connect II program. Great work by all!

I just wanted to let you all know how proud I am of the Mental Health Court team and the level of engagement you are getting. I did a rough count of this morning’s calendar and am absolutely amazed by the number of clients and level of engagement in the program.

This morning, we had roughly 69 defendants on the 8:30 and 10:00 calendar. Out of that number, 30 appeared in court, were excused, and only 10 clients were in custody. As always, a transition plan with a warm hand-off was set up for everyone in custody other than one client who will have his transition plan set up before his release in a month.

For the individuals not present, only 8 bench warrants were issued and 4 bench warrants were held, while 11 clients were excused. 20 clients were either on the ‘A Team’ or doing so well they were continued for four weeks or more.

This is a group of clients that traditionally would only be present only when in custody, wouldn’t show any engagement, and would have multiple cycles through custody. The improvement is strikingly apparent. I just want you all to know how much I appreciate the great work that you are doing by transitioning the clients and keeping them engaged.
